City Lite

by Penfold @ 27/04/2007 - 14:00:47

Got the 6.15 this morning just after the girls from the ET got there with a stack of copies of 'City Lite' and free bottles of water.

Have to say? Not impressed. Girls cute, water drinkable, paper... eminently disposable. Almost NO local news, and (the thing which I'd really have found it useful for) no local what's on guide at all.

2/10. Could do better.

What's this about Penfold? Has Tinsel Town got it's very own Metro type paper? I've not seen or heard anything about it!

Sure has. Being handed out this morning to... universal apathy, I think. Sadly.

Its main problem is it /isn't/ a local paper. Most of it was national and international bitty gossip, from the brief skim I gave it.

There was local news on the front page, something about Peterborough houses being a pot of gold due to the increase in value over the last however many years.

The big thing i noticed was the reference to the free GNER taxi service. Well if had known it was free, i wouldn't have bothered getting a scooter.

I guess it is almost free when comparing to the parking prices.

The GNER taxi service might be cheaper than GNER rip off parking charges but its about 50% MORE than Queensgate charge to park in their car park.

I think they're right about hse prices in P'boro (still cheap in copmparison to London, Cambridge, Stevenage etc) but the Taxi Bus is most certainly not free or cheap.

From what I've seen though, a seat is almost guaranteed.
