Birds, bloody birds you could not make it up. Have we only just got birds in this country?? This even beats "the wrong type of snow". If they can blame the birds we will be doomed for ever. I can hear the announcements now "sorry for the delay to your service this evening its not our fault its the birds"

Come on fellas. You must of heard about the mutant pigeons that shit acidic, metal eating poo. Apparently there's a large concentration of them living around Facet Fen and Holme.

Now here's a thought, if Network Rail could get these birds with toxic poo to crap on the lines in Autunm it would solve the leaf on the line problem!

The problem is, though the toxic poo will fry the leaves, good. They also melt the track, bad.

Just because a reason sounds funny, that doesn't mean it's not true .... The reason for the disruption was overhead power line damage, which MAY have been caused by birds mating - yes might sound funny but that doesn't mean it's a lie!! Cynical people ...

Cynical for a reason mate.
1. The lines are always coming down around the Facet/Holme area.
2. There's clearly a problem in that area.
3. Birds usually mate in spring not late June.
4. This summer has been poor so it's unlikely they've managed to get two broods in.
5. We've heard lots of differing excuses but not many as odd as the mating bird story.
All in all what do you expect?
So the entire bird population of the UK decends on that perticular part of the line to mate, what 5 or 6 times a year? Have I missed something, has the Government decreed that yesterday was April 1st, or do Networkrail beleive that the long suffering commuter will take any old crap that they spew out as gospel.
