To say I'm annoyed with GNER today is an understatement. I arrived at P'boro station this morning about 08.25 intending to catch the 08.33. Instead I find every GNER service cancelled and no platform staff available to ask what's going on. I did manage to find out that FCC were running a limited service but I was warned to expect delays as there was likely to be unscheduled stops.
What really pissed me off was the total lack of information from GNER. I see on their web site it says the ECML is closed between Donny/York and Donny/Leeds due to flooding. However it also says they're running a 1/2 hourly service between Donny & Kings Cross calling at Grantham, Retford, P'boro and Stevenage. So why wasn't this apparent at the station? I've just left there believing that there was only a limited FCC service today only to find that's wrong.
It's fairly clear that in times of trouble, you can always rely GNER to cock customer communications right up. FCC on the other hand are at least able to say what they're doing and roughly when.

I am afraid the staff at Peterborough on the arly shift this Morning are very good at hiding away, The same happened yesterday, unfortunately that means that all staff get tarred with the same brush which is not true as the afternoon shift were completely different and as helpful as they could be, when I arrived back at Posh last night.
Info is always sparse after any incident be it flooding/wires down/ fatalities etc for about an hour, however after an hour info should start to filter through slowly, this morning the floods closed the line behind the 0700 from Peterborough which left at about 0745. I caught the 0804 which started from Peterborough, coach B had 6 people in it.
