There's trouble afoot

by Penfold @ 24/09/2007 - 09:28:27

From GNER:

"Train services between Doncaster and York are significantly disrupted due to a structural problem with a bridge.

"Trains between Doncaster and York will operate at approximately hourly intervals and journey times will be extended.

"It is not possible to operate the full GNER service and those trains that are running over their full route will be busier than normal.

"Network Rail's engineers are working to repair the bridge as soon as possible. However, the current estimate for a return to the normal service is 06:00 hrs Friday 28th September."

And as usual, FCC have more information that GNER haven't mentioned:

"On the Thameslink route there are delays due to earlier over running engineering work at London Bridge. In addition, a tree has fallen on the overhead power lines near St Albans. As a result two out of four lines are currently closed.

"Services are currently delayed by up to 30 minutes."

My colleague reports his Picadilly Line train not stopping at KX this morning due to 'overcrowding' (around 8.45).

Why should GNER post travel info about the Thameslink line when they don't use it?

Overzealous cut and paste on my part. But they weren't reporting the St Albans tree, which WAS affecting things.

Hello Chaps
Do you know if there is any engineering work on Sunday 7th October which will affect my journey from Grantham to kings cross? I am off to watch Arsenal thrash Sunderland by at least 6 goals and dont want to be late.

Thank you

there are no engineering works that affect you getting into London on this date Razor, the only engineering is up north.

If you need anymore dates have a look under GNER webiste www.gner.co.uk, then click on "Train Times" then click on "Timetable Alterations Calendar" and can check ahead for any journeys

Thanks Bad Wolf.
I had the pleasure of sitting in first class the other day (dont normally) There were 3 human resource professionals discussing their presentations in London. I had one a half hours of the worst bullshit I have ever heard. So much hot air produced by so few people. Is it possible to ban human resource and managment consultants from using the train?

Razor if it was up to me, no managers would be allowed to sit in first, they would all be banned to standard, they can be more flamming demanding than the passengers, but bless them they probably got to do their presentations to the new bosses of National Express to see who keeps their jobs....SHAME
