What time is it?

by Penfold @ 25/10/2007 - 16:07:59

Am I the only person who finds it annoying that the Departures board by the parking ticket machines on the way from the car park to the station hasn't got an indication of the time on it? There's plenty of room to squeeze in the necessary five characters (06:13) in the header, and it'd do wonders for my peace of mind when I'm hurrying (do I have time to hit the ATM? is there any point in hurrying?)

(Yes, I have a watch. No, I don't trust it to keep railway time).

It does appear to be a bit of an over-sight that the time wasn't added to the screens. Shouldn't be that difficult to code.

However you may be making the fundmental mistake that train departures and time are related. How often do we read "On time" when we enter a platform to find out the train has now been delayed 10 mins (once you've waited 10 mins past the scheduled time). Or the old chestnut that train doors may close up to 1 minute in advance to allow for an ontime departure
