A wee frisson of nostalgia just now as the guard on the 0700 announces 'Standard class customers are requested to exit through standard class. There is no access through the catering car...."

To follow on from the NXEC proposed changes:
Hull Trains proposed changes. http://www.rail-reg.gov.uk/upload/pdf/s18-ECML-Hull_Trains.pdf
Option 4 sees a service from Grimsby via Spalding, Peterborough & Huntingdon. (No doubt also an increase in the "any permitted" tickets as well).
FCC proposed timetable changes:

Trains stregthened to 12 cars on some services but semi fasts making additional stop at Stevenage. Also FCC propose to change the rolling stock to class 321 trains ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_Rail_Class_321 )

i just dont get this, there`s no need for extra services to destinations like harrogate, skipton, and bradford as the trains that currently run to the mentioned destinations carry very few passengers through to kings cross as most passengers just use these services as a commuter service to leeds, the current departure from harrogate calls at horsforth and that is where most passengers get on for the ten minutes it takes to get to leeds, the same can also be said for the current skipton service as this picks up at keighley and shiply again for the benifit of local commuters, and the 1803 departure to skipton carries very few passengers to skipton once this service departs leeds at 2034 you are lucky if there are as many as 20 people on board and they are only ther as they have missed the local metro stopping service that runs a few minutes in front.
nxec need to get to run there existing services on time before they start to plan to run extra services to pointless destinations like harrogate, skipton.to be fair they would be better off running extra services to busier yorkshire destinations such as huddersfield, sheffield etc as we seem to have more passengers changing at leeds for huddersfield and changing at doncaster for sheffield.-

I wouldn't worry. the type 180 Adelante trains that they are proposing to use for Lincoln and Harrogate are notoriously unreliable, which is why First got rid of them on their Western routes.

If anyone is interested in NXEC plans for future services then read this...
New destinations like Harrogate, Grimsby etc are planned.
