For gods sake NXEC, scrap ...

by Fentyke @ 25/06/2008 - 09:45:11

Or refurb the rolling stock you used on this mornings 07.17. I've sat in some, old filthy, smelly coaches but non quite as bad as coach C on this mornings 07.17. What an embarassment. Torn seats and carpet that looked like they'd been washed like last summers floods. Honestly, if I was invited into somebodies house and they offered me a seat on a sofa which was half as bad as the seat NXEC wanted me to sit in this morning, I'd politely refuse and insist on standing.

In fact wihile I'm ranting about rolling stock I'd also like to ask for a little consistancey. Some days the 07.17 is an old 125, others a 225, but hardly ever the same 2 days running. Due to the differences between the different coachs, your never quite sure where your reserved seat is, or where to stand on the platform for the door. A minor gripe compared to the first but worth a mention.

I may also have just had a run of bad luck with older trains lately but there have been quite a few which frankly are not in a good condition AKA filthy and smelly. On two occasions this week two out of two the toilet in the quiet coach has been blocked and unusable which again questions the level of maintenance being performed. Frankly the cost of the ticket does not equate to the level of service being provided by a long shot.

It's not just the differences in 125 and 225 trains, but also the variations in either upgraded Mallard coaches on 125s, basic old GNER stock, or worse - the old Midland Mainline rejected stock - with the putrid green colours..
At least we were early in to KGX this morning.

Northbound, the old clunkers seem to be on the Skipton service.

My dear boy - you seem quiet these days - only two posts last month - NXEC can't be doing much wrong then if you've only got two days on which you feel a need to comment.........

Was no one caught up in the disruption last week when that berk cut through a 650v cable oop north?? Surprised it wasn't mentioned on here considering the 3 hour delays some people experienced.
