As member of NXEC staff I fully agree with the undertaker. Though as a tax payer myself will I be self employed in Dec?

I hope national express do hand back the franchise in Dec. They really didn't have any kind of plan/goal with it and were, to be reserved, not the best employers I've ever had and I have had two jobs...

Well, If you are going to London tha you can try Hummingbird Cars http://www.airportransfers.net. I have tried them For London airport Transfer and they are pretty good and Affordable. They Provide Transfers from all the five London Airports: Gatwick, Luton, London City, Stansted and London Heathrow Airpots. They have very well behaved Drivers who respect their customers. They also provide a MEET and GREET Service. They have well maintained Saloon, Estate, People Carriers (MPV's) and large Public Carriers.
They also dont hike their prices anytime they have standard prices throughout the year. They also provide good discounts on bookings.

Hi, first of all it is a great news that wifi are free, those who can't afford the same can now be easily got the same.Further it is nice to see that the number of visitor has arouse. Hope it might be because of good feature and layout.

As very soon all the people working for NXEC will in fact be working for me by virtue of the fact I am a taxpayer, I think we should lay down some fresh rules.

All nXEC staff must not turn up for work without first washing.

All NXEC staff must have a min qualfication of one English GSCE. (That should get rid of a lot of them)

All NXEC staff must be able to speak good English (There goes another 30%)

All ticket inspectors with an IQ of less then 10 will be fired (Christ thats created quite a few new jobs)

well according to every paper, and news programme, National Express will not be running the east coast mainline after December, but according to National express letters past to all staff this is infact a load of rubbish and infact they are not having difficulties and will remain running the east coast, so who is lying only time will tell usually does, but my money's on NXEC loosing

Oddly enough I've also felt happier with NXEC over the past few months too. I've not had anything to complain about.

I'd like to know what the staff are thinking. If they're going to refranchise rather than keep it nationalised they need to reform the franchise process. They need to give the franchise to the company that can offer the best service to the passengers without subsidy rather than giving it to the highest bidder meaning we get fare rises and staff cuts,

I had my ticket checked four times on one journey last week. Once at the automated barriers, twice on the train and then on arrival at Kings cross. The KC was the worse as people had to queue to let the cretins check the tickets. Talk about creating frustration and anger. And what about the duplication of tasks??
I am really sick of the arseholes runnning this line and muppets they employ

I couldn't agree more Dave they make life easier for the fare dodger. Its just tickets on the cheap while pissing everyone else off. Not to worry Nat Express will not spend money while their franchise is in the air. Oh by the way thay've just lost it. I don't think the govt will spend any money on barriers they never did wen it was british rail check tickets on board not at stations.

All stations should be open apart from tube etc... where you have no check on board. Bye bye Nat Express simply the worst company in history far worse than GNER. Bring on Virgin. Virgin do tickets on board and the only station they put barriers in at coventry they took out again as they saw it as extra money and the ticket was checked again on board anyway.

A loss of £20m in 6 months on the ECML - what are these guys doing. No wonder they are walking away. Trouble is it is all going be run by Gordon B ruin now - watch fares rise exponentially in the future.

Now that the taxpayer has bailed out the mess at GNER/NEEC will we now only be charged a fair price to travel on the trains? Perhaps somebody at the Department for Transport will wake up and realise that by charging ridiculous amounts at station car parks it really does discourage people from using the trains! Silly me - it must be the heat. I've just seen dozens of pigs flying outside the office window...

NXEC are trying to walk away from their contract. Would they let a passenger walk away without paying?

I think the government should crack down on these fare evaders (NXEC) and take every fucking penny they have.

What a joke. They ramp up all the costs and then cant understand why people cut back travelling with them in a recession.

This is pathetic.CYCLING TECH, There are 2 spaces for wheelchair users on our services. Tell you what, next time, rather than having 2 staff members on hand to put down the rather awkward and heavy ramp, we'll leave it to you and your friend to do between you while also trying to put your bike in the DVT. Then when you get onboard and realise that BOTH spaces are occupied by wheelchair users, we'll close the doors and despatch the train before you find your chance to put the ramp back, get yourselves off the train and remove your bike from the DVT. Sound like a plan?????

LOL, those with piercings could go topless and wear our name badges ha ha. Yes, the pre recorded announcments have been set for a very long, just rarely get used due to the new scripts of announcements given to crews and guards. As for the shirts, mine was ok! My old ones on the other hand, I only have 2 and I flash more often in those as the buttons never stay fastened!!!!! But I'm sure the rest could wear a thin white vest top under the thin shirt if so concerned, at least it would look better than our coffe stained, faded washed out scanky shirts that are wearing away!!!!

As a member of staff, one of the areas I constantly hi-light to our managers at our station is the toilets.
They are watered, if I can call it that, by a large tank above the cubicle in the vestibule end of the coach. When a train runs the length of the main line from Scotland to London, it cannot be 'tanked' on route. ( this is the term used for filling with water at originating stations). So when a train is full and standing, understandably, some toilets will run out of water therefore, not flushing, will be locked out of use. However, when the train arrives at its final destination, eg Kings cross, the contracted company responsible for this job will 'tank' a number of coaches, the catering car obviously taking priority. But the issue is, they don't 'tank' them all, which I believe they should be doing! In not doing this, the train will leave and head all the way back up the line to Scotland, with toilets already out of use, so more people use the working ones, they then run out of water, so they become locked out of use and so on! It is a disgrace!! And as for warm beer, omg!! Warm wine served in the restuarant is even more embarassing!! When I challenged a manager about these 'cupboards' we try to pass off as fridges, I was informed, like I was an inquisitive 3 yr old might I add, that there were only 2 'fridges' in the whole fleet that were out of order!!! HA!! The managers obviously believe we're as thick and stupid as some of the passengers do! When permitting, we use crates and sinks full of icey water to chill our beers, wines and soft drinks down, but when our suppliers don't deliver what we have ordered, half the time we end up with no beer never mind ice to cool it in!! Maintenance seriously seems to be at the bottom of NXEC's list, way after 1. Profit from ticket sales! 2. more profit from ticket sales! 3. Redundancies, resulting in less overheads and yup, u guessed it, showing more profit from ticket sales!!
But maybe some light at the end of the tunnel.........A birdie tells me today that NX have handed the franchise back to the government yesterday!!!!!! Whether true or another hopeful rumour, I'm not sure yet, but fingers crossed!! Maybe things will get back to how they were, at least GNER cared about both passengers and staff. Watch this space.......
